New Era in The Ponds Community
15th December 2015

Landcom and Australand engaged Connections in September 2007 to manage The Ponds Community Program and Connections appointed Tuula Schaeffer as community facilitator. We welcomed Kerrie Dennett to The Ponds team in 2011. From those early days we have seen The Ponds become the thriving community it is today, with nearly 3,500 homes occupied and a range of regular community groups and activities.

The Community Program is coming to an end with Kerrie finishing work on 15th December and Tuula on 17th December. The Ponds & Kellyville Ridge Community Association, working with The Ponds Social Committee and a variety of community partners, will continue the legacy into the future. A special Handover Party was held recently to celebrate the last eight years.

The Community Association will receive a grant of $8,000 from The Ponds Community Initiatives Fund. The fund was established by Landcom and Australand to assist groups and organisations by providing seed funding to run programs or projects in The Ponds. Smaller grants have been given to the playgroup, parkrun, The Ponds String Ensemble and Bring a Mate.
