Local Businesses Treat Women in The Ponds

Local Businesses Treat Women in The Ponds
30th May 2017

On Saturday 27th May, 50 women were able to enjoy some rare time out for them to relax, be pampered and have some fun with friends over a delicious afternoon tea.

The Ponds Women’s Pamper High Tea was hosted by The Ponds Kellyville Ridge Community Association (TPKRCA) from an idea birthed out of one of its Social Committee Meetings which are held bi-monthly in The Ponds. The event was held at The Lake Neighbourhood Centre at Lakesedge in The Ponds which only opened late last year.

The event was only made possible by the generous support and sponsorship of many local businesses keen to support and contribute to the community.

The delicious afternoon tea including  freshly made scones, brownies, cupcakes, indian sweets, and a range of sandwiches, sushi and hot food were generously provided by Silverleaf Artisan Bakery, My Indian Bazaar, Koko Thai, Wondersushi, BWS & Woolworths The Ponds along with local women Varsha Jumnarka and Vijini Parthiban.

Pampering was definitely a highlight for the women who were captured from the moment they entered the door with options for massages (hand, foot, neck, shoulder, back) make up, express manicures and accent nails, henna, threading, hair consultations and other goodies to enjoy browsing and …..buying! Our wonderful stallholders who also generously gave their time to treat these women were Mim’s Beauty Angels, Jamberry, Home Beauty, Blaq Ivy, Sonu Hair & Beauty, Seduced by Scents, Intimo, Envy Jewellery with Laura, Thermomix, Hub-a-bags, Libellula Relaxation & Health, Young Living Oils and The Ponds Art & Craft Group.

Special guests ran some interactive moments through the afternoon with Vijanti Amarsee with Bollywood Dance and Pepsie Magonya with African Drumming Dance. To begin calming these women to end their afternoon they were also treated to beautiful singing by Janvi Mistry and relaxation and breathing by Monica Lamata of Oxygen Yoga.

The calming was much needed after all the excitement of fantastic gifts and prizes won in the lucky door prize draw! Thanks to our wonderful stallholders and other sponsors Banarasi Babu, Onroad Driving School, Priceline Pharmacy, Silverleaf Artisan Bakery, Stylish Blooms and Bella Bodies for these fabulous gifts and contributions to our showbags along with Lisa’s Beauty Room and Sahara Street Food.

The consensus? Let’s do this again!
